It doesn't seem to reduce the value to the reader, though I haven't read the entire article yet.

This helps, but still doesn't really help the reader know if it's enough to cover individual expenses or family expenses. I assume enough to be self-employed but definitely agree that ballpark numbers would provide the reader much more value like David Kadavy's Income reports:
