iPhone 12 owner sues Apple over refusing to repair
businessinsider.comOne of the biggest reasons I keep buying apple products and do not mind the cost, is that I always have great experience with Apple handling my issues. I had my AirPods Pro replaced twice for no cost (sure they shouldn't break on their own, but still), they fixed my laptop while on warranty for no cost. Once when I had to pay for fixing my keyboard (4 year old laptop without apple care), they charged me for the keyboard replacement and they returned me a laptop with new screen and new battery free of charge.
Also, I dont know if they have 24/7 support, but last week I had live chat with their support on Sunday evening.
>The phone Kim's suing over was originally purchased from an authorized Apple seller in Vietnam in October 2020, he said. The iPhone 12 was under Apple's warranty until October 2022, he said.
Ok. This piece of information alone should have been in the first part of the article.
Two Year warranty I am assuming AppleCare+? If that is case, not fixing it seems unusual.
It may be that it’s 2 years in original country of purchase and not the us. A few countries require a multi year warranty by default.
Is that case? As far as I am aware, Globally even in UK or EU where multi year warranty are required by law, Apple still only list one year warranty [1]. And you have to explicitly tell Apple that by law they need to repair it.

They explicitly say this warranty is on top of statutory warranties.
From your own link:
> As such, the Apple One-Year Limited warranty benefits are in addition to, and not instead of, rights provided by consumer law.
A deeper issue that would be more interesting to see in court: apple’s use of coded parts that if removed make the phone inoperable. Who wants something that, after warranty, you can’t repair. Most of these involve what Apple deems security issues
Which is hilarious considering the price of iOS exploits has plummeted, who is waiting for someone to replace their screen or camera to pwn?!
> Who wants something that
Evidently, a lot of people want that. Or at least they’re choosing to buy it.
