China’s TikTok Limits Young Users to 40 Minutes a Day
sixthtone.comChinese TikTok has a reminder if you are using the app for 2 hours or in the evening approaching to sleep time (11 or 12 I don't remember), it shows a clip from an actor/actress/singer/other pop star to remind you to put down you phone and go to bed. This is to general public. Don't ask me how did I know it.
Tiktok in the UK presents an ad regularly if you've used the app for a long time or late in the evening, showing a woman brushing her teeth and suggesting the viewer rest. I quite like it, it seems to be a generally well accepted "that's enough, time for bed" signal for late night tiktok users.
I wonder if restricting video games correlates with a rise in crime. China is most likely different culturally in that regard but I’m curious to see the effects of it.
On one hand, I want to keep kids away from addictive gadgets and apps; on the other hand, I can't help thinking: maybe that is the future.
