Intel Arch Day 2021 – AVX512 gone?
anandtech.com> What it means is that for the consumer parts we have some extra dark silicon in the design, which ultimately might help thermals, or absorb defects. But it does mean that AVX-512 is probably dead for consumers.
Is it just me or does this sound mindbogglingly stupid, even for Intel?
Seems like if you want to migrate between big-little which they currently have then you can’t have things like differing avx widths…just a hunch.
