Ask HN: Any History Podcast Recommendations?
Hello. I enjoy listening to history podcasts, but all I can find now is either about well-known topics (i.e discovery of America) or subtly reflecting the ideological opinions of the host.
I want to find something objective and original. The topics don't need to be too niche. Do you have any recommendations? Thanks. Mike Duncan's "The History of Rome" (concluded) and "Revolutions" (ongoing). https://thehistoryofrome.typepad.com/ https://thehistoryofrome.typepad.com/revolutions_podcast/ Also an enthusiastic second for "The Fall of Civilizations". War And Conquest: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/war-and-conquest/id140... Our Fake History: https://podcasts.apple.com/ca/podcast/our-fake-history/id102... The History of Byzantium: https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/the-history-of-byzanti... another for the dollop, but also "Behind the bastards" and for a more traditional look at history "In our time" from the BBC is tremendous +1 for 'in our time'. 'Behind the bastards' looks interesting thanks. The Fall of Civilizations is great. A podcast with a certain theme, looks great, thanks! Dan Carlin's Hardcore History The Dollop. 'improv history' sounds really original, thanks.
