We refreshed our 1800 emoji to support the new landscape of work
medium.comI like the design. The issue always is consistency across platforms: a fun expression on one system may come across as smug or insincere in another.
I wonder how much use is the rationale they cite before they design the emojis, and how much is it posturing after the fact.
For example, was the imperfection of man a design principle when they decided to do away with a geometric circle? Are pronounced eyebrow expressions already not the norm in emojis? Was the focus on trust in uplifting an inspiring designs a motivating factor for choosing bright saturated colors?
I ask all of this because I am not literate in professional design principles. What do designers or artistically minded folk think of the article?
