Facebook Removed Seek Bar in Videos on Home Feed

Looks like a new UX/Manipulation tactic that they've employed to force people to click on the video in an attempt to seek, which takes them to videos page. That page is designed to get you to watch more videos.

I love that I haven't used Facebook in so long I can't even picture what this means.

Good thing you got off. It has become frustratingly difficult to use without wasting too much time on it.

Prediction: Facebook will introduce many more dark patterns like this.

Solution: Stop using Facebook. Delete Facebook, if possible.

Why would you disrespect your limited time with this?

I'm still seeing seek bars on videos on my main feed, so I wonder if this is some kind of A/B testing that only some people can see? — Or whether this is just being rolled out in stages, and my feed has yet to receive this update? Interesting either way.

Nice to know they're still harvesting raw human rage. Nothing drives me crazy like having a new page load when I clicked something that isn't supposed to go to a new page (usually the Verge re-flowing native ads under my cursor just as I click "show comments").

God they're like Monsters, Inc over there.

FB is evil and all that, but it was quite helpful to obtain organic answers on many of my complicated questions mostly due to sheer size of their communities.

I also was able to find a buyer for my condo with very little effort.

I rare click on cat videos on FB.

I use FB for what it is good at.

Interesting if true, but I'd like to see a writeup with analysis, examples, and so forth.
