Holy crap. Water landing a heavy at night (article says 1:30AM). No matter how well trained you are, that has a serious pucker factor.

"The hospital reported one of the pilots (58) is in the intense care unit in critical condition, the other (50) received serious head injuries and multiple lacerations and is in serious condition."

Not a smooth landing in any way... Wishing them best of luck to recover.

Dual engine failure on climb out. Ditching a 737 at night can go wrong in many ways, glad these guys made it out alive.

Fuel problem? Turning off wrong engine? Dual bird strike? Some kind of overload condition (gear down)?

Duel engine out at same type rarely random mechanical issues with both engines.

After the first engine failed, the pilot reported that the second engine was going to fail too, as it was running very hot. So, that eliminates a lot of failure modes.

Both pilots were rescued, the FAA said.

Perhaps a bird strike?

Waiting for blancolirio and mentourpilot analysis.

If you can ditch a part 121 in the Pacific at night and survive a DEF/NR, I should buy you beers.
