Advice for young engineering managers (21 or 22 year olds)
range.coIt doesn’t feel like a great idea to saddle a young person with maybe 2 years of career experience with management.
One thing we didn't talk much about is if it's...a good idea. I imagine many of these folks will switch back into the technical track for a bit. But the reality that Tess speaks to is that many more experienced eng managers are burning out (pandemic management has been no joke), and so companies are tapping on earlier career folks to step into management. For folks who don't opt out of that situation, how do you make the most of it?
