Ask HN: How come we haven't got rid of clickbaits in 2021?
Seriously. I am not joking. I can't be the only one to cringe at clickbaits. I open chrome on my android device and the first I see are a bunch of, so called, "news" full of misleading titles begging for attention.
"Clickbaiting hurst your SEO ranking". No sir. How come we have let this happen? How come the WWW is worse now than it was 10 years ago? The WWW in 2021 blows. Even if you do find a good page, you get assaulted with the stupid cookie opt in and then 2/3 of the page is covered in ads. I miss the web of 2012. It was so good: modern, yet didn’t make old sites look ancient. Loved the aesthetics of older Facebook (as compared to the minimal trash we have now), but that is personal.
