Stripe announces pricing for invoicing
stripe.comThe current title isn't really accurate for two reasons:
- In large part based on prior feedback from HN users, we're giving all existing users free usage until January 2024.
- Our starter tier will yield free usage indefinitely for >95% of users.
Ok, I've attempted to change the title to something more accurate. If anyone can suggest a better (i.e. more accurate and neutral) title, we can change it again.
(Submitted title was "Stripe invoicing will now cost 0.4% or 0.5% per invoice")
95% of users send 25 invoices a month or fewer? This seems really low!
If this is the case, what is the point of charging? Can't it be free. Invoicing also brings ecosystem benefit, right?
With the recent stripe billing changes and now invoicing, it is starting to feel like involuntary “upgrades” on core features is how stripe gets to be a trillion dollar company. Sometimes I hate VC.
Does this mean anything for dashboard analytics? If Stripe is billing us based on the amount paid, I’d expect that data to be flowed into those cute charts and Sigma. Unless I’m missing something?
Fees like these would show up under the "Additional Stripe fees" Dashboard financial reports. You can query fees with Sigma too, or see them in the Dashboard at Balance > Transactions > Stripe fees.
