Show HN: Minotaur – Free music streaming service using Spotify Data and YouTube

I searched for an album, clicked it, and a “sign up” screen popped up, preventing me from continuing. That’s where you lost me, less than two minutes after opening the website.

What’s the point of making us sign up? I’d rather search Youtube myself, or use one of the several alternative apps which do the same without requiring registration.

I was a huge fan of Rdio back in the day before it got bought by Pandora and shut down in 2015 (ish?). I've tried all the other streaming services, literally, and none of them lived up to Rdio in my opinion so I decided to build my own version.

I'm using Spotify to gather Artist, Album and Track data then streaming YouTube to actually play the songs.
