Nvidia's new mining specific GPU announced
nvidia.comSegmenting their market, just like overcharging for underperforming Tesla cards for ai loads. What if they just tried to make good stuff, instead of slicing & dicing to prevent us from using the hardware how we want. Contemptible.
As a gamer I kinda appreciate the move, because trying to get a new high-end GPU has been almost impossible because they all end in server farms.
As with the previous attempt by another company I forgot the name of, unless the price is much lower this will not be adopted by most miners.
The reason is simple: you can't resell a mining GPU for as much money as you'd resell a gaming GPU. People buying RTX 3070 right now know that they will be able to get 50% back when selling on the used market. This make the ROI much better.
Top of the line card (90HX) is 86 MH/s @ 320W whereas 3090 is 106 MH/s @ 350W [0]. Am I interpreting this wrong? Doesn't seem more efficient to me...

Sounds like either poorly binned hardware or there is a difference in measurements
I wonder if they disabled the ability of PCI-Express bus to mirror image the GPU output into your IGP (Internal GPU) so that you could use it as a display card even though it lacks a output port.
I wonder if these second hand would do well for cheap compute horsepower.
