Show HN: Connected Markdown notes with spaced repetition
traverse.linkOne curmudgeon's reaction ...
I'm sure it's wonderful. I use MarkDown to take notes, I link them together, and I use Spaced Repetition systems to learn and review. Having everything linked together in a single system is potentially interesting and useful. This looks like exactly the sort of thing I am primed and ready to use.
It says "Start Learning for Free", and then I need to sign in with an email and password, or with Google.
Without knowing more about it, how it works, where things are stored, what it does differently from everything else, what your privacy policies are, whether I can import/export data, and without actually trying it, I'm not signing up.
Closed.
Thanks for your feedback. I will add a privacy policy and info about importing/exporting data (which is in fact a feature). However I'm not sure where to add it, do you have any suggestions? The page footer seems like a logical place, but from your comment it seems you were already deterred not being able to find it from the CTA -> signup window. Maybe a small text link from the signup window would work?
Make that two.
Yet, there are places where that onboarding is useful. Solving B2B people will pay money to make money problems is among them.
Where that onboarding hurts is solving problems people don't know they have...or more generally B2C. That's this context. And the problem is mostly an implicit caveat emptor of consumer oriented relationships.
