What does the author mean by “simple mobile devices?”
The reason Apple hit it out of the park was because the mobile devices were more advanced than any mobile or desktop computer, yet in a tiny enclosure.
I would think that scaling up to desktop or server machines with more flexible thermal requirements and tons of power would be where the discipline in mobile soc design pays off.
Too little, too late.
Lets see some benchmarks.
I hope Intel can pull through. Nobody benefits if there are fewer options on the CPU front.
