Firefox to block Backspace key from working as “Back” button
zdnet.comAt last. Now if only designers could jettison that useless "Clear" button from forms...
So much was written about web form UX. Even if some advice is conflicting with each other, having the dinosaurs implement the least common denominator would come a long way to ease users' frustration.
At last? Backspace not working is frustrating, not the other way around. How am I supposed to navigate on a laptop?
Umm... use the alternative from TFA? Alt+Left. Laptop keyboards are so small this can be pressed single-handed.
My laptop has Alt only on the left side. It's also very unintuitive... Backspace is the back button in the file explorer, in the media player, etc...
My point was though that something that doesn't work for you might work well for someone else.
Edit: No, I can't do that with one hand.
On a second thought, I didn't mean to attack your personal preference. I just dislike the invisibility of the new binding. Perhaps a info bubble or something would fix that.
