Ask HN: What personal checking account are you using?
I saw the discussion on the best bank for startups https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=23682511 and was wonder what people use as a personal checking account.
There are many financial products out there, but I don't think any consumer checking account having an API. I use my local credit union primarily since they are "supposed" to be non-profit, lower interest rates and fees. I used the term supposed, since there are a lot of variance. I was thinking about Chime too Why do you need a bank API? I agree. I love credit unions / or as we call them here building societies. They are owned by the customers. As such their interest are in what servers the customers best. Credit unions you expect to treat you like they care about you, not about profit. Fidelity and Schwab. No minimums, no fees, ATM reimbursements. I don’t need an API, I need consistent, reliable banking services (checks, wires, mobile check deposits, mobile app). MoneyWiz https://wiz.money/new-in-moneywiz-2020 it can sync with a lot of banks Schwab. Nearly all fees waived because it is a loss leader for their optional investment products (which are also very good btw). What do you need an API for? I use mercury, they've been pretty great and have an API as well!
