Quantum supremacy, now with BosonSampling

"What is BosonSampling? You must be new here! Briefly, it’s a proposal for achieving quantum supremacy by simply passing identical, non-interacting photons through an array of beamsplitters, and then measuring where they end up."

Would this be like passing sunlight through a pin hole carmera into a series of prisims eventally landing on a matrix of photo sensors and studying how far from the center of each wavelegnth's beam the photons landed?
