I haven't tried running it, but there doesn't seem to be any special sauce beyond their use of normal kops, which means it's still caveat clusterator for keeping etcd membership in good health (by far the biggest risk to self-hosting k8s)

Maybe that means their objective is actually closer to "EKS-flavored kind" than "run your own EKS"
