Ask HN: AWS Global Accelerator Beneficial?
We tried using AWS Global Accelerator and hardly noticed any latency benefits when we tried to access our applications from different parts of the world with or without. Wanted to know if anyone has any similar experiences using AWS Global Accelerator or any of its competitors. Could you provide a bit more information about your app (TCP/UDP, region, etc.) and how (from where) users are accessing it? We tested http api call response times. Hosting application region is AWS us-east-1. Created VMs outside AWS in other regions and tried to access it through browser. Tested the setup before and after enabling AWS Global Accelerator and hardly noticed any difference.
