An ex-FBer's take on the tech apocalypse
youtube.comI really liked the discussion of shareholder value. I feel that this is the main escape hatch for justifying unethical behavior in Silicon Valley 2020.
But I wonder if people even bother to justify themselves. What are the means to push back on a corporation like FB, from within and without?
None, hopefully. Facebook should not give in to censorship campaigns.
Hmm, but what if it acts unethically? What if Grimm's right and it has a hand in the death of quite a few people. Is that censorship? Or asking to take responsibility for flaws in the machine?
I have not completed the video but an initial thought is, this seems to be another take on what the heck happened in 1971.
What was that?
Good video. And like all good criticisms of Facebook it leaves me wondering, “but what can I do?”
Most things we can do seem irrelevant, the only thing that would hurt is regulation. Will that happen? Unlikely in the US. Perhaps in Europe...
