Replacing my phone battery with a cheap AliExpress knock-off

My old portable devices are often unused because I can't source a new battery.

For example, I would have used an old PowerBook G3 for casual writing, but having no battery both reduced mobility and increased the odds of catastrophic failure if the power cable were bumped.
