Ask HN: Good resources for freelancing (e.g. tax, business structuring, etc.)?
I'd like to start freelancing in the near future and want to make sure I do things properly.
I know this changes region by region, but was wondering if anyone had good resources for how to get started in this space? Things like what taxes should be filed when, how to structure the business to protect myself, what kind of accounting is necessary, invoicing, etc. I've been able to find a lot of disparate information but wondering if there's any kind of centralized resource (book, website, etc.) that glosses over all the aspects one needs to understand to go through with this.
Currently based in the US.
