Huh, the coordinates the article gives is about 15km away from Mauritius:

So it's like saying a car in LA being towed a block north-westerly is being towed towards New York.
The article also seems to get judgemental/whiny that I wonder if it's an opinion piece, a blog post, or a terribly non-journalistic article.
