Ask HN: Will Facial Recognition be ever commercially successful?
There are tens if not hundreds of companies investing millions of dollars in facial recognition, only to find majority of them are biased.Further, each effort to commercialize is met with resistance via privacy, legal and ethical issues. In this scenario, why are these companies spending so much money on facial recognition research. Will they ever be able to make money out of this research?
