Ask HN: How do you tame the elephant?
I've seen lots of discussion on HN about 'the elephant and the rider', the id and the ego, and in general one's conflict with the more primitive part of their mind.
Personally, one of the most significant barriers to achieving my goals is that my id gets in the way of what my ego wants to do. That is, the irrational part of my mind often interferes with and corrodes the will of the rational part.
What are HN's tips and tricks for taming your inner chimp? Have you been able to align the interests of your ego and your id?
