Reverse Engineering – The Golden Age of Computer Hacking (2018)
reverseengineering.tvIt's a webpage about an upcoming docu series about the old hackers/phone phreaks days. There is not a single finished episode.
...and there never will be? It's a 1pager, it's promoting something related to computers. People come to HN to read about computers. I'm content with this here, trailer seems well-produced. After seeing this at least I'm more curious about an upcoming documentary series.
SO it's not about actual Reverse Engineering which is tearing the wings off software to understand it better
I could be wrong, but I surmise it's about reverse engineering the hacker culture
it’s been a work in progress for over 4 years, hopefully they will be completed soon, in the meantime here’s a completed chapter I found on their site
Chapter 3 - Wargames Generation
It says: "Sample Scene, rough version with temp music and archive. For private screening purpose only. 19:02" Which is it then? Is it finished, or is it just a teaser?
Why use a scrapple computer on their intro page, why not a commodore 64, we all know the c64 was the power to the people. =))
And for that matter it's from back in the Woz days when Apple published schematics of everything, so no need to reverse engineer their hardware.
But the film seems to be about marketing to 80's pop nostalgia. And things like 2600 aren't part of that.
In the chapter below, Eric Corley the founder of 2600 is in several interviews
