Ask HN: How to invest in the VR industry?
VR seems like a no-brainer for an upcoming technology that's going to change how we interact with computers (and maybe our world). As a person outside that industry, I'd like to invest one way or another and be part of it.
HTC and Facebook/Oculus are the most notable providers right now, but overall it seems like a tiny piece of their overall puzzle.
AMD and Nvidia seem like a good secondary investment in this industry (i.e. picks and shovels). Any other companies that stand to profit off of a booming VR industry? Start building a community using a forum, website, blogs, social networks, etc. Think something like crackberry.com back when Blackberry was dominant. Monetize accordingly.
