How much each level would move a target business metric. Bigger improvements score higher. Pick the shape, level count, and range that match how your team thinks about wins.
Linear. Equal weight across the range. A small change matters the same at any level.
Logarithmic. A jump from 1% to 2% matters more than a jump from 100% to 200%. Small improvements get finer distinctions.
Exponential. A jump from 100% to 200% matters more than a jump from 1% to 2%. Large improvements get finer distinctions.
Curve preview — Impact score vs. input
Dots mark the level boundaries on the curve. Dashed bars show where each boundary falls on the input axis. Where dots cluster is where the scale gives the finest resolution.
How long each level takes to implement. Short-duration items score higher, long-duration items score lower. Pick the shape, level count, and range that match your team's sense of "quick" vs "slow."
Linear. Equal weight across the range. A week saved matters the same at any duration.
Logarithmic. A jump from 1 week to 2 weeks matters more than a jump from 20 weeks to 21 weeks. Short-duration items get finer distinctions.
Curve preview — Ease score vs. input
Dots mark the level boundaries on the curve. Dashed bars show where each boundary falls on the input axis. Where dots cluster (short durations) is where the scale gives the finest resolution.
Types of evidence a user can tick for each idea. When multiple are ticked, the highest-scoring one wins. Unlike Impact and Ease, confidence types are discrete categories — order and overlap don't apply.
