Getting weary editors to sit up and pay attention during the final slot on the fashion month calendar is no mean feat, but this afternoon, Miu Miu made it look easy. Joining an illustrious list, including Willem Dafoe, Sarah Paulson and Kristin Scott-Thomas, to have walked the brand’s runway, Gillian Anderson is the latest star to add Miu Miu muse to her CV.
Together with the likes of Chloë Sevigny, Gemma Ward and Kristen McMenamy, the actress took to the moss-covered runway in a sheer, bedazzled dress styled with a Y2K zig-zag hairband. It felt fitting that the 57-year-old should round off the season on the Miu Miu catwalk, given the number of older models we have seen on the runways this season (including 49-year-old Stephanie Cavalli, who opened Chanel’s autumn/winter 2026 show).

Despite being best known for her on-screen work, the actress is no stranger to commanding a crowd. Just last week, I found myself surrounded by raucous women at the Royal Albert Hall, listening to Gillian and a starry line-up of Helen Mirren, Gemma Chan and Olivia Cooke, read passages from Want, a book of anonymous sexual fantasies that I probably can’t describe in more detail here. With a second book, More, underway, Miu Miu’s newest muse is once again flying the flag for modern women.
