Select the document you want to export

Use the Google Drive picker to select the document you want to export. Don’t worry; we do not get full access to your account. We will only have temporary access to download the content of the document you select.

Specify the export settings

Our export tool has a few nifty tricks, such as converting standalone links to embeds. For example, add a link to a YouTube video, and we’ll generate the correct embed code for you.

Click the Export button

We will download your document’s content and convert it to Markdown. We will also download and include any images in your document. Once we’re done, we’ll email you a link to download a ZIP file with the content.

Why should you use the Cloudpress Markdown export tool?

• Is it free to convert my document to Markdown?

  Yes, our tool is 100% free.

• Do you have an API?

• Can you export the content to my Content Management System?

• Do you get access to my entire Google Drive?

  No, we only get access to the document(s) you select for export. The access token we acquire when you authenticate your Google account is stored in memory, and we do not have access to it after you close the browser tab.

• Do you store the content of my document?

  We temporarily store your document's content on our servers so the background process can access it to export it to HTML. Once the export is complete, the content is removed from our servers.

• How long can I access the exported content?

  We will email you a download link when the export is complete. This download link is valid for 24 hours. The ZIP file containing the exported HTML and images is removed afterwards.

• You now have my email address. Will you start spamming me?

  No, we do not use your email for purposes other than sending you a notification once the export is finished. Once the email is sent, we do not store your email address on our servers. The email with the download link contains a short promotional blurb about our full product, but you won’t hear from us again.

• What happens if the export fails?

  Occasionally, we encounter a document that contains content that trips up our HTML converter. If this happens, you will receive an email indicating that the export failed. We encourage you to contact us at hello@usecloudpress.com to see if we can figure out the problem.
