The Turing Lectures 2026: tickets now available

The Turing Lectures mark their 10th year as a national platform for leading ideas in data science and artificial intelligence.

This year’s programme centres on the theme of resilience. As technological change accelerates, AI is increasingly shaping how societies protect and reinforce the systems that underpin modern life – from critical national infrastructure and defence to environmental protection and climate action. These technologies offer new ways to anticipate risk, strengthen preparedness and respond to complex global challenges. Yet their growing influence also introduces fresh vulnerabilities and raises difficult questions about governance, responsibility and trade-offs.

Across the Turing Lectures 2026, Turing researchers and invited experts will examine how AI can contribute to more resilient systems in key domains, while also reflecting on the wider societal implications of its adoption. The lectures offer thoughtful analysis and grounded perspectives on how emerging technologies are reshaping the foundations of our shared future.

Tuesday 28 April: Frontier AI under pressure - building resilience across layers

Book your tickets for 2026's first Turing Lecture here.

Join MITRE Labs Fellow and former Frontier & AGI Security Group research lead at Google DeepMind, Mikel Rodriguez, to explore rapid AI advances in fragile institutions. Mikel asks what it really takes to make our institutions resilient to frontier AI and to build systems that can adapt.

The answer doesn’t lie in perfect control – but in humility, diversity and the courage to act decisively amid uncertainty.

Wednesday 27 May: Making AI (truly) sustainable - from environmental costs to social impacts

Book your tickets for 2026's second Turing Lecture here.

It’s not news that AI has an environmental impact – and, as training models expand, so does the strain they place on the environment and energy grids around the world.

And for 2026's second Turing Lecture, join Climate Lead at global responsible AI start-up Hugging Face, Dr Sasha Luccioni, for an evening of expert insight and discussion: what does it mean in real terms to make AI sustainable? Sasha leads us through solid, evidence-based steps the AI ecosystem can take towards true sustainability.

Secure your place at The Turing Lectures 2026

The Turing Lectures series features influential figures from the dynamic world of data science and artificial intelligence. These prestigious, landmark lectures lead and shape the national conversation, sparking debate, informing and, of course, entertaining audiences.

Our thought-leaders are renowned experts – often world authorities – each with their unique perspectives. From scientific advisors to high-profile scientists, entrepreneurs, industry insiders, and leading academics, The Turing Lectures prides itself on diversity, and authoritative and an engaging style.

Speaking to packed audiences, the lectures have already included the lead scientist of Google Deepmind’s Machine Learning team, Nando de Freitas; Buzzfeed News Editor, Craig Silverman; computer scientist, academic and social entrepreneur Sue Black OBE; and mathematician, author and broadcaster, Hannah Fry

Topics explored in the series are as diverse as the speakers and reflect a rapidly changing world. With subjects as intriguing as the ethical implications of 'deepfakes', AI’s effect on economics and the commercial sector, data trusts, the opportunity of the digital humanities, and the promise of wearable tech.

The reach of The Turing Lectures series goes well beyond its highly engaged live audience and you can discover or rediscover many of our lectures via our YouTube channel. The series continues to grow in scope, ambition and reputation and we look forward to welcoming you.
