Americans took to social media to express conflicting viewpoints on the new tool.
Some worried about downloading a government-run app right to their devices, while others praised the accessibility of White House information.
Trump and his administration have been known to accuse media organizations of spreading “fake news,” and have used different avenues of outreach to get their policies out to the country.
One of the most prominent examples of the White House‘s ongoing media campaigns includes the X account Rapid Response 47, which self-describes itself as “supporting @POTUS’s America First agenda and holding the Fake News accountable.”
The account is notorious for calling out news stories it claims are fake and posting all things President Trump.
Officials have also released a “Media Bias” portal, which names journalists and has a “media offender of the week.”
