Ukraine Border Crossing Duration Monitor

Introduction

This page contains charts for the duration of border crossings over the Ukraine border for the Ukrainian side only, as reported by Ukrainian Customs Service, here.

As of 2025-10-29, the Ukrainian border is completely closed, due to failure of the Customs computer system. Their web-site is down, and so no data has been gathered since then.

Polish side durations are not known to me, but could well be comparable. In general, if not travelling by train, I advise setting aside a day to cross the border.

On the Customs Service site, there are two pages per country, one for inbound, one for outbound. Once per minute, I randomly pick a single page from the site and copy the data from that page into the database.

There are no data for foot crossing times. I do not know which crossings permit crossing on foot. A few crossing points are cargo vehicle only, a few passenger vehicle only. Some crossings, particularly to Moldova, are listed are having no data, and so have no charts. A few crossings are missing data for a particular vehicle type and direction, and so are missing a chart. A few crossings intermittently stop providing data, and so have gaps in their chart.

In general foot crossing times can be very long for non-EU passport holders, which includes Ukrainian passports (think one kilometer queues). For EU passports, there's a separate queue which is always empty.

Looking at the charts, it seems data is not always reliable, and I would advise taking that into account.
