Object Storage use cases

Archive

Archive data at a lower price. Use lifecycle rules to send objects into Glacier cold storage class after a chosen period of time.

Disaster Recovery

Tune your Disaster Recovery Plan, and rely on your preferred automations from Terraform or Veeam to manage your backups.

Media diffusion

If media diffusion is at the core of your business, share your content with the best performance to a broad audience.

File transfer

Allow your customers to reach great upload and download speeds from your object storage based file transfer application.

AI and ML

Store the raw data that will be used to train your AI and ML models in Object Storage.

Big Data

Create a scalable datalake with Object Storage to power your business analytical needs with high IOPS and low latency.

Performance scalability

Proven engineered backend architecture handling exabytes of cold and hot data, offering low latency for the most intensive use cases.

Simple readable storage classes

Concise offer with three well-designed storage classes covering all needs, from ultra-critical production workloads to very cold archives, with no headache.

Granular lifecycle rules

Automate seamless objects transitions to cold storage and expiry rules to support FinOps initiatives and minimize data footprint.

No design bottleneck

Minimize Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) by rationalizing storage costs across the entire data lifespan. Don’t pay hot storage buffer fees to simply upload data to cold storage.

European Compliance

Fully sovereign infrastructure designed for strict compliance to European laws and regulations, including privacy by design and environmental footprint indicators.

Enterprise-grade Security

Enable granular access management at resource level, configure encryption at rest, versioning management and immutability.

Frequently asked questions

What level of resilience do Standard Multi-AZ and Standard One Zone classes offer?

SouthShortIcon

With Standard Multi-AZ, your data is stored across three AZs. In the event of a technical issue in a data centre, we can reconstruct your data, ensuring it remains accessible. With Standard One Zone, data is distributed across three different racks within the same data centre. If one of the racks becomes unavailable, we would still be able to reconstruct your data.

How can I monitor my Object Storage consumption?

SouthShortIcon

You can monitor your Object Storage consumption directly in Cockpit, our Observability tool. Metrics such as storage and bucket usage help you estimate your consumption.

How can I upload large objects?

SouthShortIcon

Object Storage supports multipart upload. We recommend uploading by chunks, in a limit of 1000 chunks per upload and 5TB per object.

How can I access my files via HTTPS?

SouthShortIcon

You can access your files via HTTPS by creating a public link from the control panel. Click on the file name and enable the public link by clicking on the corresponding button.

Can I use Object Storage as a CDN?

SouthShortIcon

The Object Storage service was not designed to be used as a CDN, it is not fine-tuned for this kind of usage. We do not recommend it. You can still use Object Storage as a backend for a CDN. All you need is to put a caching layer in front of it. Try Edge Services!

Where can I find the SLA (Service Level Agreement) for this product?
