The Imposter Game is a verbal strategy and social deduction game that tests your ability to describe, deduce, and deceive. It is a battle of wits between the "Civilians" (who know the secret word) and the "Imposters" (who are trying to blend in).
The Core Concept
In every round, the system assigns a secret word to all players.
- • The Civilians all receive the same secret word (e.g., "Camping").
- • The Imposter receives a slightly different word (e.g., "Hiking"), or sometimes no word at all.
Players take turns describing their word using cryptic clues. The catch? The Imposter doesn't know they are the Imposter (if they have a similar word), or they must guess the Civilian word based on context.

How to Play
Choose Your Setup
Navigate to the homepage and decide how you want to play.
- Online: Host creates a room, players join via code.
- Offline: One moderator passes the phone around.

Ensure you have entered a valid number of players (between 3 and 15). The system requires a minimum of 3 players to generate a logic puzzle.
Can't find saved game room
Game states are saved in browser local storage. Using Incognito or clearing cache will lose data. Always use the same browser to rejoin.
Friends can't join Online Room
Check internet connection. Restrictive Wi-Fi (School/Work) might block it. Try mobile data. Ensure Room Code case matches exactly.
