Earlier this month I posted benchmarks of the Loongson 3B6000 for this 12-core / 24-thread LoongArch Chinese CPU with DDR4 ECC memory. Those initial benchmarks were done with Debian LoongArch64 while since then I've shifted over to using Arch Linux on LoongArch.

With the Loongson 3B6000 supporting UEFI booting, it was a breeze switching from Debian to Arch Linux on this LoongArch test box provided by the Loongson Hobbyists Community. Via their hobbyists community's OS listing page is a look at the different Linux distributions available for Loongson hardware.

The Arch Linux build for Loong64 booted up just fine on the Loongson-3B6000x1-7A2000x1-EVB and was off to the races.

While testing Arch Linux on LoongArch64 it was using the Linux 6.18 kernel, GCC 15.2.1, Btrfs as the default file-system, and other leading-edge packages. For those curious, in this article are some benchmarks of Arch Linux against Debian on this same Loongson 3B6000 12-core / 24-thread system.
