Digital Chat Station has revealed some more information about the MediaTek Dimensity 9300. Its prime Cortex-X4 core will operate at 3.25 GHz.
Even though MediaTek is scheduled to launch the Dimensity 9300 in a few weeks, the AP is yet to debut on benchmarking platforms. It may have to do something with thermal issues, a statement MediaTek vehemently denied. Now, Digital Chat Station has shed light on some more of its specs.
An earlier leak said the MediaTek Dimensity 9300 would pack a total of eight CPU cores, four Cortex-X4s in a 1+3 arrangement and four Cortex-A720s. The prime Cortex-X4 is clocked at 3.25 GHz. However, this figure is not final and may be readjusted later. Another report stated the remaining Cortex-X4 cores would operate at around 3.0 GHz and the Cortex-A720 cluster at 2.0 GHz.
The leaker says MediaTek hasn't confirmed the Dimensity 9300's final clocks internally, implying it is still fine-tuning the chip. This iteration of the chip supposedly "kills" the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in CPU performance (AnTuTu v10). If that holds true, it could even give the Apple A17 Pro a run for its money.
Other MediaTek Dimensity 9300 specs include a 12-core Arm Immortalis-G720 GPU. It performs on par with the upcoming Adreno 750; however, this could change due to the existence of "errors". Furthermore, the GPU's performance could be nerfed to keep thermals in check.
