Contemplating my recent behaviour on LinkedIn and other social media, I see the danger of confirmation bias in action. Whilst it is affirming to "follow, like share and comment" on posts and posters who align with my views (and tend to be the majority of my following), how do we get tested without intelligent debate. The danger with so many of our interactions online is that we either agree/support/like/are aligned with or disagree/think ridiculous/think the poster is ridiculous/ignore/don't engage... It's a completely binary outcome without Socratic dialogue and discussion leading to any change. My thought of the day. #discussion #debate #confirmationbias
