HackerTab Pro - Industrial Raspberry Pi tablet

We are introducing a professional RPi compatible tablet

Update: Power over ethernet (PoE) ready

In opposite to the many DIY builts and available kits, the HackerTab comes fully assembled and ready to run - but you can get a bare-bone option as well.

Instead of just stuffing a hobby-grade Raspberry Pi inside a monitor, we designed a real tablet from scratch which is running on the Raspberry Pi CM3 (Compute Module).

The CM3 is a tiny module containing the same processor as the RPi model 3B+ (four cores), but it´s intended to be used in industrial environments like fuse boxes and electrical cabinets.

The HackerTab is a fully integrated solution. The form factor is very handy and compact, yet offers plenty of space inside for expansions and integration of your own systems.

The removable silicone shell provides drop protection and splash water resistance.

Our goals

We designed a product which is meant to be a carrier for your own system.
You can focus on your goal instead of struggling with integrating a power management, a touchscreen, audio etc.

You can plug in your own (or third party) board into the standard Pi-HAT header and you are ready to go.
There are already many boards available, for example motor control, Hi-Fi audio, LTE connectivity and many many more.
The size of your custom board can be even greater than the size of a Pi-HAT. In fact, you can use the whole area inside the tablet. And you are free to sell your own products using this device as basis.

Some ideas are:

  • Entertainment system in the car
  • Arcade game machine
  • Portable oscilloscope
  • Outdoor SDR / Radar / GPS
  • Industrial control
  • Interactive terminal

What does "professional" mean?

  • Fully assembled device - ready to run
  • Body developed by professional industrial designer
  • Long-year experience in electronic design
    and series production
  • Power-down by system command
  • Splash-proof
  • Outdoor-capable
  • Realtime clock (can wake up the tablet)
  • Panel- & wall-mounting
  • Customized ISO/TS16949 automotive TFT panel
  • Using only quality components
  • Integrated power system
  • Audio IN and OUT (the standard RPi has output only)
  • CM3 or CM3 LITE module inside
  • Meets RPi HAT specification
  • HACKABLE

Device is ready-to-run
No further assembly needed

Price comparison

Let´s compare the price with a DIY-Kit

  • Raspberry Pi 3B+ 35€
  • Official Touchscreen 70€
  • Case 25€
  • Powerbank 10€
  • Audio IN 15€
  • Realtime clock 10€

SUM: 165€

So for only 84€ more you´ll get:

  • Handy format, but plenty of space inside
  • Rugged case / splash resistant
  • Header is free for use (no power or audio shield needed)
  • Power monitoring
  • USB accessible from inside
  • Space for your project instead of stuffed wires
