Skype can no longer be accessed on the Web using the Firefox browser on both Linux and Windows, as of Wednesday morning. The same applies to Opera.
A message pops up, advising the user to switch to either Google's Chrome browser or Microsoft's Edge.
Browsers like Brave and Vivaldi, though not mentioned, still support the use of the Web version of Skype.
Some reports claim that support for Firefox was dropped a long time back but until Tuesday this writer was using Skype on the Web through Firefox on Linux. Skype on the Web also worked on Windows 10 last evening.

This morning, the following message appeared:
Some time back, Microsoft announced that it was adopting the Chromium engine for Edge and this change is probably why Skype on the Web no longer works with browsers based on other engines.
