When Bríd Uí Chuanaigh suffered a stroke, she worried that her daily walks in the Galway countryside where she lives were over. But six years on, Bríd, who just turned 70, is back up to walking an hour a day.
It was during a family trip to visit loved ones in Canada that Bríd’s life changed dramatically. She recalls feeling the cold and sitting down for a coffee to wait for others to come back from a day’s skiing in the resort town of Whistler.
