The Global CBPR System and Global PRP System
The ability to transfer information across borders is fundamental for businesses in the global economy
These voluntary certifications allow organizations to demonstrate their compliance to internationally-recognised data protection and privacy standards developed and supported by participating jurisdictions.
Accountability is a key feature of the Global CBPR and Global PRP Systems. Companies that seek Global CBPR or Global PRP certification must have their data protection and privacy policies and practices verified by a third-party certification entity known as an Accountability Agent. This generates trust among consumers, businesses and regulators.
The Global CBPR System ensures that when a certified company moves personal information across borders, it is protected to the standards prescribed by the Global CBPR Framework
Global Cooperation Arrangement for Privacy Enforcement
Cooperation paves the way for trust
Established in October 2023, the Global Cooperation Arrangement for Privacy Enforcement (CAPE) facilitates cross-border cooperation between participating Privacy Enforcement Authorities in the enforcement of data protection and privacy laws, including joint investigations and enforcement actions. The Global CAPE also facilitates the enforcement of the Global CBPR and Global PRP certifications.
