What are Glassdoor Awards?
Each year, Glassdoor celebrates outstanding employers throughout the world. Glassdoor Awards are based entirely on employee feedback, and recognize employers in multiple countries worldwide. For the 2025 awards, we will consider employee feedback in the United States and the United Kingdom for Best Places to Work, and in the United States only for Best-Led Companies. While we won't be considering employee feedback in Canada, France and Germany this year, we may expand our lists in the future.
How do I submit my company for a Glassdoor Award?
There is no registration, submission form, fees or nomination required for employers to be considered. Just share a company review for your employer and encourage your fellow employees to do the same. The review should take no more than a few minutes to complete. Only one company review per employee is accepted each year. All reviews must meet the Glassdoor Community Guidelines.
How are Glassdoor Awards different from other "best of" lists?
Unlike other workplace awards, there is no self-nomination process and no cost involved. Winners are determined solely based on reviews provided by those who know a company best - the employees.
How are winners of Glassdoor Awards determined?
Award winners are determined using feedback employees have shared on Glassdoor during a 12-month eligibility period. Employees can anonymously complete and submit a company review that asks them to rate and review their employer and give insight into what it's really like to work at a company, including what's working well (Pros), what needs improvement (Cons) and advice to senior management.
Based on feedback shared, Glassdoor’s Economic Research team then applies a proprietary algorithm to determine the winners of each list.

Do you anticipate changes to future awards criteria and methodologies?
Certainly. Workplace culture continues to evolve and Glassdoor reserves the right to make changes to our awards program at any time. With the launch of Glassdoor’s new community features, there's an even greater opportunity to redefine what makes a 'Best Place to Work'.
When is the deadline to submit reviews for the next Glassdoor Award?
Glassdoor takes into account reviews and insights from employees throughout the year, so unlike other awards, it's important to have ongoing employee feedback. The eligibility deadline to submit reviews for the Best Places to Work is late October, and for Best-Led is late June.
My company did not win a Glassdoor Award. Where can I learn more?
The list is extremely competitive and it’s possible your company met all of the minimum qualifications but simply ranked lower than the winners. To learn more about how to improve your chances, read our free resources related to Best Places to Work.
When are Glassdoor Award winners announced?
The Best Places to Work lists are scheduled to be announced in January. The Best-Led Companies lists are scheduled to be announced in September. Winning companies will be notified in advance of their win.
I posted a review last year. Will it count toward a Glassdoor Award this year?
Glassdoor Award winners are based on annual review submissions and not cumulative contributions. Reviews submitted during the 12-month period of eligibility will be considered. Reviews submitted after will likely be considered for the award next year. Previous award wins do not influence future awards.
Why is the Best Places to Work rating on the landing page different from the company’s rating on its Glassdoor profile?
The rating displayed is a special Best Places to Work rating used to rank the winners and it is different from the overall rating on a company’s Glassdoor profile. More specifically, the rating displayed on a company’s profile is based on cumulative ratings and quantity of reviews. The reviews and ratings considered for awards purposes are during a specific 12-month time frame only, and factors like employee location, employment status and the year former employees left a company are also considered.
Can you provide me with a custom analysis to understand whether my company is eligible or ‘on track’ to win?
We aren’t able to provide employers with any sort of custom analysis or feedback on what it would take for them to make Glassdoor’s Awards Lists and/or where they fell short in previous years, nor can we provide any information on a company’s specific employee engagement strategies. This information could unintentionally give an employer an unfair advantage at ranking on the list and we are committed to treating all companies equally.
