FOLLOW-UP: Here’s everything Amazon announced today

Amazon this morning unveiled an array of new Echo devices, including a smaller and lower-cost version of the flagship Echo smart speaker, a special-purpose accessory for calling traditional phone lines, a new bedside clock and other products powered by the Alexa voice assistant.

The cumulative effect is a major overhaul of the Echo lineup with new capabilities and form factors.

Introduced during the event at the company’s Seattle headquarters were a revamped $99 Amazon Echo and a new $35 Echo Connect device for making phone calls with the company’s virtual assistant. Also announced: Echo buttons, for playing games in conjunction with an Echo device, which will sell for $20/pair.

Other announcements include a new Echo Plus device and a revamped Fire TV with 4K and HDR support. And finally, the company unveiled a new $130 bedside and desktop device called the Echo Spot.
