ESRGAN is pretty damn amazing trying Max Payne with it.

In case you don't know what ESRGAN is it stands for Enhanced Super Resolution Generative Adverserial Networks's it's a AI technique that improves older games textures. Someone made a Max Payne HD pack using it and I wanted to see how much a difference it made I took some screenshots and I have to say WOW. This will make old games really shine.

Never even heard of it. Is it sort of like an "on-the-fly" filter or something or does it do this before loading the game?

Yeah, actually you are right about on the fly filter the AI scales up the textures it works with pretty much all games I think but results vary of course. I'd love to replay Max Payne like that, it's one of my all time favourite games. But unfortunately I don't think it supports 21:9 ultrawide.

Every 3D game should scale to 21:9 aspect ratios, just sometimes they require a little modding :P

No one wants to sign for Max Payne 1+2 Remaster?

@PredatorRules I would love for Rockstar to do a remake of MP1. I feel like it's the only thing they can do with the MP series after 3 remaking the original with their current RAGE engine would be amazing I'm down with a MP2 remake too.

This is using the widescreen patch my AR 16.9 with the HD pack of course the only issue with the widescreen patch is the graphic novel cutscenes are a bit cut off on the bottom but you can still see everything but the the bottom controls under them.

@warmblur: This is basically the beauty of PC gaming: throw a couple of mods on there and you basically got a remaster for free.

Never ever liked texture mods, but damn this is absolutely amazing. It's already been a godsend for games with prerendered art.
