There isn't just one way to build. For the best ideas to move forward, we need the power of code and the canvas. Claude Code to Figma is just one way we’re giving builders more choice.

Figma is built on the belief that design, craft, and point of view are the real differentiators. In a world where AI can help build any possibility you can articulate, your core work is to find the best possible solutions in a nearly infinite possibility space. In other words: Start learning everything you can about design.
Our point of view is that the design canvas is better at navigating lots of possibilities than prompting in an IDE or ADE. With the canvas you can think divergently and see the big picture by comparing approaches side by side. You can also use direct manipulation to edit details. Finally, after you've explored options and polished the design, you can simply use Figma MCP to pull design changes back into your codebase.
This is a different workflow than you’ve heard about from Figma in the past. The reality is that workflows are changing. Previously, product design and development workflows were often linear. For example: Brainstorm ideas with your team, design, then code. Today, you can start anywhere and go everywhere. What's key is taking a moment to ask yourself if you're even building in the right direction.
It's so easy to get lost in the momentum of creating something. There's a natural pull to keep going. And as a result, the first version often becomes the version. We hope Claude Code to Figma Design helps you escape that tunnel vision, zoom out, and explore the big picture.
Whether product building begins in a terminal, a prompt box, a visual UI, or a hand-drawn sketch, we want Figma to be the place where it all comes together.

Dylan Field is the co-founder and CEO of Figma. Dylan studied computer science and mathematics at Brown University where he and his co-founder, Evan Wallace, first started experimenting with design tools built on (and for) the web. With funding from a Thiel fellowship, they began Figma. Prior to Figma, Dylan interned at O'Reilly Media, LinkedIn, and Flipboard.
