Key features designed for
real world deployment

Solid state batteries have been discussed for years, but most remain confined to labs and pilot programs. Donut Lab’s solid state battery was designed for vehicles, real duty cycles, and scalable production, and is available today.

A sleek, dark rectangular device labeled “DONUT | Solid State” is illuminated by a soft overhead light, creating a dramatic, futuristic appearance against a black background.
A line graph shows battery state of charge (%) rising over time (seconds), starting at 0% and reaching about 90% in 360 seconds. The curve becomes less steep after 250 seconds, indicating slower charging.
A comparison chart showing battery lifespan: typical lithium-ion lasts 1000–1500 cycles, high-end lithium-ion lasts 5000 cycles, and Donut Battery lasts 100,000 cycles, with horizontal bars indicating each lifespan.

Until now, solid state batteries have lived in roadmaps and lab promises. Donut Battery changes that. World’s first production vehicle powered by an all solid state battery.

400 Wh/kg energy density

Donut Battery delivers 400 Wh/kg of energy density. In practice, this enables longer range, lighter structures, and greater freedom in vehicle and product design, delivering performance gains without architectural trade offs.

A line graph showing state of charge (%) on the y-axis increasing over time (seconds) on the x-axis, starting at 0% and reaching about 95% after 350 seconds. The charge rate gradually slows as it nears full charge.

Full charge in 5 minutes

There is no need to limit charging to 80%. Full charge and full discharge are safe, repeatable, and expected in daily operation, supporting demanding use cases without limiting battery life.

A comparison chart showing battery cycle lifespans: Typical Lithium-ion (1000–1500 cycles), High-end Lithium-ion (5000 cycles), and Donut Battery (100,000 cycles) with horizontal bars representing each.

Designed for 100,000 cycles

Unlike lithium ion, Donut Battery is designed to degrade at a significantly slower rate. Minimal capacity fade supports long service life under continuous use and repeated fast charging.

Case study

Proven in real programs. Battery-first.

All-solid-state batteries are often positioned as future technology. That’s no longer the case. Donut Battery is already deployed in real vehicles and active development programs.

built for real deployment constraints

Designed to meet safety, supply chain, and integration realities — not just lab performance.

A sleek, rectangular solid-state drive labeled "DONUT | Solid State" lies on a dark surface, featuring a matte finish and two silver connectors protruding from one end.

Extreme Safety By Design

Donut Battery addresses the primary root causes of battery fires by design.

  • No flammable liquid electrolytes
  • No thermal runaway chains
  • No metallic dendrites that can cause internal shorts

Safety is not added later. It is built into the chemistry, structure, and system behavior from the start.

Cold performance test

Validated for operation in extreme cold environments.

Tested at sub-zero temperatures, demonstrating stable output and minimal capacity loss under cold operating conditions. At −30 °C, Donut Battery retains over 99% of its capacity.

Metal fins or panels are shown in the background, with the text "-30°C" prominently displayed in large white letters, suggesting extremely cold temperatures.

High-temperature test

Validated under sustained high-temperature operation.

Tested above 80 °C, maintaining stable operation without ignition or performance degradation. Even when heating the cell beyond 100 °C, capacity retention remains at over 99%, with no signs of ignition or degradation.

Built on abundant, geopolitically safe materials

Donut Battery is designed to scale globally without
supply chain bottlenecks, cost volatility, or
geopolitical dependency.

  • 100% green and abundant materials with global availability
  • No reliance on rare or geopolitically sensitive resources
  • Lower material cost than lithium-ion

Clay-like design freedom

Like Donut motors, Donut Battery behaves like clay. It adapts to the product instead of forcing the product to adapt to the battery.

  • Custom sizes, voltages, and geometries
  • Structural battery integration
  • Non-traditional formats (e.g. battery, drone body or chassis element)

One battery architecture. Many applications. Production-ready today.

Universal Battery Platform

From micro-electronics to defence, from drones to charging infrastructure, Donut Battery is designed as a universal battery platform.
