Take-Two Interactive has asked a New York federal court to issue DMCA subpoenas requiring Microsoft and Discord to turn over extensive records that could identify the person or group behind the recent GTA 6 leaks.
The GTA 6 developers are seeking IP addresses, phone numbers, linked Google and Xbox accounts, device identifiers, Microsoft telemetry, and relevant OneDrive files connected to accounts that may be tied to the Cyberleek persona.
Cyberleek emerged after unreleased GTA 6 gameplay and map details began spreading online in August. The persona also used the attention surrounding the material to promote a meme coin, as Dexerto previously reported.
Take-Two filed two requests in a New York federal court on August 20, one aimed at Microsoft and another at Discord.
The Microsoft request and Discord request ask both companies to hand over information that could help identify the person behind the leaks by September 4.
At the time of publication, the court had not publicly confirmed that either subpoena had been approved or sent out. Microsoft and Discord had also not responded to the requests.
This is not a lawsuit accusing Microsoft or Discord of being involved with GTA 6 leaks. Take-Two is using a process under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act that allows copyright owners to request information that could identify someone suspected of sharing their material without permission.
Take-Two seeks account, device and cloud records
The proposed Microsoft subpoena asks for “internal Microsoft business records and investigative records” related to the company’s apparent internal investigation of Cyberleek.
The Microsoft filing asks for information on users who may have communicated in several Discord servers connected to the leaks since June 1. Take-Two wants details including email addresses, phone numbers, login IP addresses and any linked Google or Xbox accounts.
Take-Two also wants data that could identify the computers or Xbox accounts used to access the leaked material. This includes device IDs, records showing whether certain files or programs appeared on those devices, and relevant GTA, Rockstar or Cyberleek files stored in OneDrive.

The Discord filing names Cyberleek, the alias used to publish the leaked GTA 6 footage, alongside CinematicRockstar and Surfer24k, two other online accounts Take-Two is investigating for possible links to the leaks. It lists cyberleek_west and surwest as replacement names for Surfer24k.
The request also covers the Ødyssey.gg and Odyssey communities, along with a server used by editors for GTA YouTuber Matthew “DarkViperAU” Judge.

Including a server should not be read as an accusation against its owner or every member. The documents seek records that could help identify an alleged infringer, and neither filing publicly names the person behind the leaks.
Supporting documents provide another clue about Take-Two’s investigation. The Microsoft filing lists a “Github DMCA Notice” as an exhibit, while the Discord filing includes previous takedown notices sent to Discord.
This shows Take-Two’s hunt has included at least one GitHub takedown request alongside its efforts to obtain Discord, Xbox and OneDrive records. It does not establish where the original GTA 6 material was obtained or who first accessed it.
Neither Microsoft nor Discord had filed a response in the two proceedings at the time of publication.
