SixForty – photo sharing for the Apple II

2 min read Original article ↗

SixForty is an Apple II client for 640by480.com, a picture sharing website with a focus on vintage digital cameras by Brian Benchoff. It is an addition I wanted to make since a while to my Quicktake for Apple II project.

Download

SixForty is free software. You can download the sixforty.po image from Github, and either write it to a floppy with ADTPro or STP, or to an SD-card for use with modern storage.

SixForty requires surl-server to proxify network traffic.

The extra cool thing

I have chatted and exchanged ideas with Brian during the development of this client.

In a sort of cool karmic thing, after I had used some of his Quicktake 150 pictures a few years ago to write and test my Quicktake 150 decoder, … he was now able to reuse my decoders to implement server-side conversion of native Quicktake files! So, you can upload .qtk files directly, and they’ll be visible in high-resolution color (!) on 640by480.com.

This upload comes from my Apple //c
